After Care for Lips

Days 1-7

Immediately after your tattoo service, go home and cleanse your lips with the cleanser provided.  With a very light touch, use your fingertips to cleanse your lips in a gentle circular motion. NO SCRUBBING! To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue.

This next step is KEY in avoiding thick scabs forming on your lips.  Blot your lips with a clean cotton round throughly once an hour for 4 consecutive hours.  This will absorb any lymph fluid that can build up leading to thick scabs.

For the next week, you will then gently cleanse your lips in the same fashion described above, twice a day.  Blot your lips dry and then apply the healing ointment provided twice a day or more often if your lips are excessively dry.

During the first week, please use a straw when drinking fluid and avoid eating anything like soups/burgers/sandwiches where excessive contact with your lips is involved.  This will ensure that the pigment isn't prematurely removed from your lips.

Your lips should start to peel on the 3rd day and by day 7 all peeling should be complete.  Your lip color will continue to develop and change over the next 6-8 weeks and at that point you will come in for your touchup session.

After Care for Brows

Days 1-14:

Immediately after your tattoo service, go home and cleanse your brows with the cleanser provided.  With a very light touch, use your fingertips to cleanse your brows in a gentle circular motion. NO SCRUBBING! To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue.

This next step is KEY in avoiding thick scabs forming on your brows.  Blot your brows with a clean cotton round throughly once an hour for 4 consecutive hours.  This will absorb any lymph fluid that can build up leading to thick scabs.

For the next two weeks, you will gently cleanse your brows in the same fashion described above, twice a day.  You don't need to apply any ointments/creams UNLESS YOUR BROWS START TO ITCH.

In that case, apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment provided with a q-tip and gently spread it across each brow. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. NEVER put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or exfoliants.

Important Reminders:

-Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days, use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep.

-DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of color.

-No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

-Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week.

-Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure. Wear a hat when outdoors.

-Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days. Limit your showers to 10 minutes so that you do not create too much steam.

-Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body. Then, at the end of your shower, wash your hair. Your face should be getting wet only at the end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.  If your brows do get wet, have a towel handy to blot them dry.

-Avoid swimming, lakes, and hot tubs for the first 10 days.

-Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area for 2 weeks.

Remember, with the proper prep and an aftercare routine, you will have much better results with your brow procedure.
